Leading with Kindness
A Shared Act of Kindness from Espesyal Pinoy at House of Hope

In September 2025, a heartfelt visit was carried out at the House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer Inc in Davao City Philippines through a meaningful collaboration between Obelia Lacanilao-Cutiongco, fondly known as Bobong, and Espesyal Pinoy’s current ManCom President, Tracy Julapong-Lemke. Centered around Bobong’s upcoming birthday, the visit was thoughtfully turned into an opportunity to share blessings with children courageously battling cancer.

Rather than marking her birthday in a personal way, Bobong and Tracy came together to transform the occasion into an act of service. Their collaboration reflected a shared commitment to compassion and continuity, showing how Espesyal Pinoy’s values continue to be carried forward through leadership and community.
This visit reflected the kind of leadership Espesyal Pinoy believes in. Leadership that shows up, reaches out, and leads with compassion. By coming together, the former founder and the current president demonstrated that leadership is not about titles or roles, but about service and continuity of values. Walking alongside the children, listening to them, and sharing time and care reminded everyone that true leadership is felt most in moments of presence, kindness, and quiet action.

Joining them in this visit were Espesyal Pinoy members Hunny, Berna, and Arielle, who each contributed personally to support House of Hope and the families staying there. Obelia also personally shared food and donations with the home, adding warmth and generosity to the visit.

The time spent with the children became the heart of the day. Sitting with them, sharing meals, exchanging smiles, and offering companionship created moments of comfort and joy, even amid difficult circumstances. The children’s resilience and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone present.

More than the donations, it was the presence and shared humanity that made the visit truly meaningful. Being there, listening, and acknowledging each child reminded everyone that compassion is often expressed through simple acts of care.

As the visit came to a close, hearts were full. This collaboration between a former founder and the current president of Espesyal Pinoy transformed an upcoming birthday into a collective act of kindness. It stood as a gentle yet powerful reminder that love, empathy, and community can bring light and hope where it is most needed.
